Sri Sri was joined by Town Council member Sudanshu Prasad, Fire Chief Norman Johnson and prominent community leaders Dr Sudhir Parikh and Dr Navin Mehta in a lamp lighting ceremony to open the programme. The Town Council of Edison also issued a Proclamation of Commendation for the spiritual master's universal initiatives.
"Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's messages and teachings of developing the spirit of universal brotherhood and love amongst one another have provided a model and standard towards which all members of the human family should strive," Prasad said.
