Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav on Wednesday criticised Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's move to garner support for senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Lal Kishenchand Advani as the prime ministerial candidate.
"Nitish Kumar is afflicted with yet another disease - that of daydreaming," the Rashtriya Janata Dal Supremo Lalu said in reaction to Nitish Kumar's reported move to garner support from regional political outfits for the National Democratic Alliance's prime ministerial candidate.
The NDA on Tuesday decided to contest the next Lok Sabha polls with a common strategy and programme under Advani's leadership.
Lalu wondered how Advani, one of the prime accused in the Babri Masjid demolition case of 1992, could become the prime minister. "The criminal case against Advani is going on in the court in this case but the NDA is trying hard to make him prime minister," Lalu said.
