According to their information, this boat was either found near Colaba's busy Sassoon Dock, near the Gateway of India or Cuffe Parade, both in south Mumbai.
At Cuffe Parade, the locals only talk about the rubber dinghy discovered at the Macchimar Nagar (Fisherman's Colony) there. But they have no knowledge of a boat being parked in these waters. Nor does the local police. And with every media outfit having tramped through here, they are now tired of talking, even as foreign media crews now try their luck.
Confirms K Madhusudan Nair, the adhyaksh of the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Samaj Sev Trust and a local leader, 'No, that boat did not come here. It could not because the water level gets very shallow sometimes. And if it the boat had come here, we would have seen it. It is possible that the boat docked closer to Nariman Point or Malabar Hill, but yes, they would have been very visible.'
