If Rajni can't, it is much difficult for others

August 28, 2008
Apart from repeating their hit dialogues, this new breed of politicians have very little to offer in terms of plans, programmes and policies.

In fact, some of them have proposed state intervention to absurd levels, little realising that it is this state intervention that has ruined India in the first instance. Scratch them a little and they could expose themselves.

Most convert their fan clubs into party functionaries; in the process making it absolutely certain that personal loyalties would definitely be rewarded.

Consequently, these parties are themselves become victims of corruption and nepotism. And instead of eliminating all these from the country, all their energies are channelled into eliminating all these within their own party! In the alternative they become a caste or a communal party.

No wonder within a few years many of them fade. In the alternative the people reject them. Rajni knew that it was easier to win applause in the silver screen that to sustain the same off it.

Crucially, he had the wisdom to distinguish between curious crown of onlookers and genuine political audience. Surely if Rajni can't, it is much difficult for others.
