Azim Premji and N R Narayana Murthy: For driving India's IT revolution 'They are responsible for making India into an IT superpower' August 18, 2008Ajay Goel, senior vice president, Cisco, on the two pioneers.
They are both the fathers of the IT industry. It is they who started the IT revolution in the country and thanks to them India's credibility has increased to such a large extent. More importantly, both these icons have over the years become role models for youngsters. It is heartening to see that they have gone out of their way to pave the way for the growth of other companies seeking to make a foothold in the IT sector. India, 61: The icons that make India They have ensured that India has and will continue to dominate the space in the world market. They have tapped the country's revenue potential. I would term them the fathers of the nation in a new avatar. The IT boom is probably one of the best things that has happened to this country. Not only has it changed India's image, but it has also transformed the entire nation. I do not see a slowdown in this sector. We will continue to stand in the world IT scene for many more years to come. Another reason why the sector will not diminish in coming years is because research and development work is getting more global demand with each passing day.
