Was writing Superstar India an enjoyable task? Was writing one chapter or another more enjoyable?
That's very hard to say. But the chapter I feel strongly about is the change in our young generation from a 'ma' generation to a 'me' generation, where one letter of the alphabet can make such a big difference in attitudes. The whole idea of family as we know it is under threat. But I hope it never crumbles.
Was the planning of the book difficult because the book has so many thoughts?
I wouldn't say difficult because I sometimes joke that it probably was a book that I've been writing for the last 60 years, from the time I was in my mother's womb!
India has such a high impact on those who live here and who are sensitive to the changes happening here. The book wrote itself. Once I started, it was like a dam
had broken. There was just so much material. The difficult part was when to stop. I could easily have written this book for two years and I still wouldn't have
covered it all.
