Prime Minister Manmohan Singh [Images], who is convalescing at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences after a prostate surgery, will be discharged on Tuesday.

Dr Singh "is doing well," according to Professor K Srinath Reddy, chairman of the Medical Expert Panel for the prime minister.

After completing post surgical tests, the prime minister will be discharged from AIIMS on Tuesday, said Sanjaya Baru, the prime minister's media adviser.

Singh, 75, was admitted to AIIMS on Saturday for the surgery. The surgery -- a trans-urethral resection of the prostate gland -- was performed to treat "benign prostatic hypertrophy of the prostate" or benign enlargement of the gland.
