"Sanjay is nervous, but he knows he will have to face the challenge. He can't escape if the judge gives him some more years of imprisonment," the friend said.

According to the friend, a director, whose recent film was a hit, "Sanjay has discussed threadbare what he will do if he goes to jail. He knows the possibility of him going to jail can't be ruled out."

The friend said Dutt has put on weight as a result of drinking and irregular sleep.

"But he will prove his worth again," the director asserted.

"The television channels have done him a great disservice by making his image larger than life," he said. "His illegal act of getting deadly weapons was bad, but how can you glamourise the story?"
