Investigators probing the death of woman officer Captain Megha Razdan have asked a Delhi-based army officer to appear before them after finding details of calls made by him on the deceased's mobile phone.

"During the initial investigation, it was found that Razdan's mobile had a long list of calls made by an army officer posted in New Delhi," a police official told PTI on Wednesday.

The head of the investigation team -- Gandhi Nagar's Sub-Divisional Police Officer A K Chowhan -- wrote to the GOC of Tiger Division on July 9, asking the officer, a batchmate of Razdan during a training course at Pune, to appear before police.

"We are hopeful the officer will cooperate with us," the official said.

Police have also recorded the statements of Razdan's husband, Captain Chaitanaya Bhatwadekar, her father Arun Razdan and mother Sheilja.

Sheilja told police her daughter was murdered as she would never have even thought of committing suicide.

"How can she commit suicide? She was quite brave and could never think of such a thing. It has been given the shape
of a suicide. Instead she was murdered," Sheilja claimed.

The 26-year-old Razdan, an officer with the 113 Engineering Regiment, was found hanging from a ceiling fan in
her room at the Kunjwani camp in Jammu on July 1.

Sheilja said Razdan and Bhatwadekar had been recently promoted and were preparing to celebrate this by throwing a
party on July 2.
