Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday morning decided to disrupt Parliament proceedings unless the government suspended question hour and allowed the party to raise the issue pertaining to the delay in informing the nation about the arrest of Italian businessman Ottavio Quattrocchi in Argentina.

Briefing media persons at the end of a party meeting  in Parliament annexe, BJP leader Vijay Kumar Malhotra said that the party will demand the resignation of Dr Manmohan Singh for keeping the country in the dark about the arrest of a principal accused in the A B Bofors payoff case.

"The members felt that if our leaders are not allowed to speak, we will not allow the Congress leaders to speak. We are not interested in the government's statement. We want the prime minister to explain the delay in informing the country about the arrest of Quattrocchi, who was detained on Feburary 6. We demand the resignation of Dr Singh. The delay has helped Quattrocchi get bail," he said.
