Afsar Ali is a native of Aurangabad, Bihar.
A carpenter, Afsar came to Moradabad in 1987. He is married with four children. His elder son is in college studying science, the younger is in class 8. The elder daughter is married while the younger is in Class 12.
He earns Rs 150 a day. In a month, he works for 25 or 26 days. While he owns a house in Aurangabad, he lives in a rented house in Moradabad, for which he pays a monthly rent of Rs 700.
"I have voted in the past for the Samajwadi Party. I thought they would do good things for us, but they did not. This time, I am going to vote for the BJP. There have been a lot of criminal activities during the Samajwadi rule. Mayawati is in the clutches of the Jatavs," he says.
"The BJP does not harass us. They have never harmed us. Goondagiri will stop," observes Afsar. "Our children's future will be better under them."
