A breach of privilege notice against Maharashtra police chief P S Pasricha was rejected in the state Assembly on Friday.

The notice was filed last week by Bharatiya Janata Party leader Gopinath Munde, who accused Pasricha of creating confusion among people by making allegations about the involvement of politicians in the July 11 serial blasts on Mumbai's commuter trains.

Speaker Babasaheb Kupekar had then announced that a clarification would be sought from Pasricha.

Deputy Speaker Pramod Shende informed the House on Friday that what Pasricha said may not be as per precedence, but it did not constitute a breach of privilege.
