Mumbai police arrested a man on grounds of suspicion when he tried to enter the Sahar International Airport wearing a burqa on Thursday night.

The man, identified as Mohammed Illiyas (35), has been booked under Section 122 of the Bombay Police Act and will be produced before the Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Andheri later on Friday.

According to police, Illiyas, a commercial pilot, was nabbed when he tried to enter the airport wearing a burqa, reportedly to receive his friend who was arriving on a London-Mumbai flight.

Police have stepped up security at airports and other sensitive points in the metropolis following the serial bomb blasts on July 11.
