As international condemnation came, Israel agreed to stop strikes in southern Lebanon for 48 hours.
On Wednesday, in response to an Israeli attack on an empty hospital, the Lebanese militia Hezbollah launched the most number of rockets -- 230 -- against Israel since the fighting began.
