Two Central Reserve Police Force troopers were killed in a shootout at Dalgate, the tourist hub of Srinagar [Images], on Tuesday morning.
Police said militants fired at 2 CRPF men from close range, seriously injuring the troopers.
The injured troopers were taken to Srinagar's SMHS hospital where both men succumbed to injuries.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
