Expatriate Indians living in the United States want the White House to celebrate Diwali, continuing the trend of last two years.

US India League Executive Director Don Feder said in a release: "We hope this administration, which has always appreciated the significance of symbols, comes to see the importance of Diwali to Indian Americans and its friends in India," Feder said.

Indian Americans are the fastest growing ethnic community in the United States. The League is a representative body of Indians in the US.
