Shobha Tyagi is the mother of Flying Officer Sudhir Tyagi. He was commissioned in the Indian Air Force in 1966, and she recalls the day he took off from Pathankot -- December 4, 1971.

He was to engage three enemy planes that had entered Indian territory. He was flying a Hunter, shot down an enemy aircraft and followed the other two deep into Pakistan. But his plane was shot down.

Shobha, along with her family, joins any rally across the country demanding the release of Indian Prisoners of War. A resident of Ghaziabad, she wants her son back. And yes, she is very proud of what he did.
