Spreading cheer, Kalam in Kashmir

The President visited quake-hit villages in Thangdhar, Teethwal and Uri. J&K Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad informed him about relief work undertaken by the state government. In Thangdhar, the President said, "I laud the courage of the people in defeating their problems. I would suggest that you master the problems rather than let them become your masters."

"I know you faced a lot of problems, but you have withstood this biggest challenge," he later told a gathering on the lawns of the Army's highly guarded Brigade headquarters. "God is with you and the people of India are concerned about your welfare."
