The Rajasthan government on Thursday banned the use of mobile phones in schools to check its misuse among teenagers.

The ban will be effective in all government, private, aided and other recognised schools, official sources said on Friday.

Officials added that schools affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education would also come under the purview of the ban.

All primary and secondary schools have been asked to effectively implement the orders.

A warning will soon be issued and penalty levied against students found violating the order. Violators could be fined or expelled from the school.
