With reports of laser beams piercing the cockpits of six commercial airplanes in the past four days in the United States, federal investigators are trying to determine if terrorists were involved in these incidents.
The Federal Aviation Administration has reported several hundred incidents of lasers being beamed into cockpits in recent years but the sudden increase has raised an alarm, The Washington Times reported on Friday.
The latest incident occurred on Wednesday night at the Teterboro Airport in New Jersey, when the pilot of a business jet saw a laser beam while approaching the runway.
