Angry supporters of Rashtriya Janata Dal member of Parliament Pappu Yadav on Saturday attacked media persons covering Yadav's arrival at the New Delhi railway station.

The Supreme Court had ordered that Yadav be shifted to the Tihar Jail after he abused his position as a powerful politician to win undue favours from the Beur Jail staff in Patna.

Around 50 supporters of Yadav and his wife were waiting to receive the Madhepura MP.

As soon as Yadav arrived at the station, his supporters started raising slogans. After a brief conversation with his wife, Yadav was taken to the police bus waiting to take him to Tihar.

At this point, his supporters began jostling with journalists. Some even snatched cameras from press photographers and abused them, blaming the press for Yadav getting labeled a criminal.

However, the police soon brought the situation under control.
