Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav on Sunday said he will table the Banerjee Committee's report on the Godhra train fire in Parliament on February 26.
Over 50 people were killed, mostly Hindus returning from a pilgrimage to Ayodhya, when two bogies of the Sabarmati Express caught fire near the Godhra station.
The committee headed by Justice (retd) U C Banerjee has said in its report the fire was accidental.
Addressing an election rally at Saharsa, Lalu accused the Bharatiya Janata Party and other Sangh Parivar outfits of being responsible for the post-Godhra riots that left over a thousand people, mostly Muslims, dead.
"The report had negated the conspiracy theory of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and other Sangh Parivar outfits in connection with the Godhra train burning," he said.
The report had sparked off a controversy with the Election Commission warning political parties against 'exploiting religion' for electoral gains.
The National Democratic Alliance had taken serious exception to the timing of submission of the report, just before the Assembly polls in Bihar, Jharkhand and Haryana.
