Narmada Bachao Andolan leader Medha Patkar and social activist Vijaya Chauhan were arrested on Saturday along with 120 others for unlawful assembly when they were protesting against the demolition of slums by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation in Mumbai.
A majority of those arrested were women, police said.
BMC is demolishing slum colonies occupying land owned by the corporation or the state government.
