Seven top Pak militants killed in J&K

Army troops on Friday shot dead seven top militants in Udhampur, Kathua and Rajouri districts of Jammu and Kashmir [Images].

Acting on specific information, troops launched a cordon and search operation in Dharmari forest area of Udhampur district around noon, a top army official said.

In an encounter that followed, four top Pakistani militants were killed, he said and added that the operation was still on.

Another cordon and search operation was launched in Doodasanpaie area of Rajouri district around 1030 this morning, he said.

Two Pakistani militants were killed in the operation, the officer said, adding that two AK rifles, seven grenades, 120 rounds, one radioset and two IEDs were recovered from them.

In a joint operation, the army and Udhampur police killed a Pak militant in an encounter in Morha hill in Billawar area of Kathua district early in the morning.

The militant, identified as Ismail Nallah, belonged to the Hizbul Mujahideen.
