India on Monday began its first human clinical trial of an investigational vaccine designed to prevent human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss said in New Delhi.
"The trial is being conducted by a partnership between the government and International AIDS Vaccine Initiative in Pune," he said.
The vaccine is being tested on 30 volunteers in the first phase of the trial, Ramadoss said.
