A group of heavily armed militants abducted four persons, including three village defence committee members in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir [Images], police said on Saturday.

Eight ultras in combat fatigues kidnapped Mohammad Tufel, Mohammad Ashraf, Mohammad Fareed, all VDC members and Mohammad Jameel from Dhewan-Samote area of the district Friday night, they said.

The militants took away their weapons and set fire to the house of Tufel, who is a deputy headman in the area. Security forces and police have launched a hunt for the militants, they added.
