'I want to be reborn as an Indian'

Independence means everything. It's a very big thing that our nation became free on that day. It was the best thing that happened to us. Who wants to be ghulam [slave].

August 15 means a lot to all Indians. Although we have not experienced what happened in 1947, we can still feel and imagine what our freedom fighters went through. Freedom also means having the right to do whatever you want, you can think on your own, everything is yours and you feel like a proud citizen.

I actually fight at times with people if they speak against India. I am very patriotic that way. I might not be singing a patriotic song, I might not be like those who lived during the freedom struggle but I am very patriotic. I just loose it if anybody speaks against India. I am very proud to be an Indian. I would always want to be reborn as an Indian.

My favourite patriotic song is 'Aye mere pyaare watan' by Manna De.
