FIR lodged against Lalu's attackers

First Information Report has been lodged against persons involved in the attack on Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav during a visit to a hospital where the injured passengers of the ill-fated Sabarmati Express were admitted.

Gujarat Home Minister Amit Shah did not specify the number of persons booked for the attack on Thursday.

Lalu has accused Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad workers of attacking him when he visited the SSG hospital in Vadodara.

Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition in the Gujarat Assembly, Arjun Modhvadiya, asked the Gujarat government to
apologise for the incident.

The incident was part of a conspiracy hatched to assassinate Lalu, he alleged and demanded a thorough inquiry into the incident.

The minister's wife, former Bihar chief minister Rabri Devi, called on the Centre to sack Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, blaming him for the attack.

Rashtriya Janata Dal members also held up Parliament session on Thursday protesting against the incident.
