Uma, Ananth, Yashwant in new BJP team

October 29, 2004 17:54 IST

Former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Uma Bharti and Karnataka Bharatiya Janata Party chief Ananth Kumar have been appointed general secretaries in a major organisational revamp of the BJP.

Former external affairs minister Yashwant Sinha has been made a vice-president.

The new team, in which general secretary Pramod Mahajan remains untouched, was finalised on Friday after a number of meetings of the top leadership.

Madan Lal Khurana, who resigned as Rajasthan Governor on Monday, is also likely to find a place in the party as vice-president, party sources said.
