L K Advani sounded the clapper for the mahurat (opening) shot of a full-length feature film on the life and work of RSS founder Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar at a function at the RSS headquarters.

RSS chief K S Sudarshan, Anna Joshi, chief of Bharatiya Sanskriti Darshan Sanstha, and Swami Vishwadevanand Maharaj (left), the Peethadheeshwar of Sanyas Ashram at Karnavati, Gujarat, were present on the occasion.

Advani hailed the late leader's role in bringing the Hindus together. The BJP chief said it was significant that he was called upon for the inaugural clap of the first feature film on Hedgewar just a few days after he took over the reins of the party.

RSS chief Sudarshan (second right) too said that Hedgewar had dedicated his life to the people of the country.

The film is a project of Pune-based Bhartiya Sanskritik Darshan Sanstha and will be directed by Milind Dastane.
