Youth makes calendar for 100,000 years

May 21, 2004 20:11 IST

A youth in Rajasthan, Raj Saini, has created a calendar for 100,000 years.

Rajasthan Governor Madan Lal Khurana on Friday lauded him and said the government would sponsor his studies.

He gave Saini a financial assistance of Rs 5,000.

Saini, a final year B Com student, aims to obtain a patent and get his name registered in Guinness Book of World Records.

"The longest calendars available in the market are for 500 years and I have indicated several calculation mistakes in them," he said in Jaipur.

Saini, who claims to have created the calendar in just four months, said he wanted to become a chartered accountant but his family could not afford his studies.
