In a new twist to the shooting incident involving Telugu film star N Balakrishna, one of the victims on Thursday claimed that the actor did not open fire at them.

Satyanarayan Chowdhary, who is recuperating in Apollo hospital following a bullet injury in the firing opened by the actor on June 3, told reporters from his hospital  bed that his family has good relations with Balakrishna and the actor did not open fire at them.

Chowdhary is still undergoing treatment in ICU.

Meanwhile, police slapped a notice on Balakrishna's brother Ramakrishna, who was said to be present in the actor's house on the day of incident allegedly for helping to destroy the evidence about the firing.

The actor's wife Vasundhara, who is a co-accused in the conspiracy to eliminate evidence in the shooting episode and now facing section 201 of IPC, is yet to be questioned, police sources said.

A team of psychiatrists led by Professor B Anand on Wednesday examined Balakrishna at NIMS hospital where the actor was admitted on the instruction of the judge who remanded him to judicial custody for two-weeks.

The psychiatrists of Government Mental hospital stated that the actor was still in deep 'mental depression' and he should be under round the clock observation for at least ten days.

Meanwhile, a medical bulletin issued by the Apollo Hospital said the condition of B Suresh was stable and he was recovering.

Condition of Choudhary was hemodynamically stable, but he continued to be breathless due to his pre-existing chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, it said.

Choudhary is being monitored closely in the ICU and will continue to be there for the next 24 to 48 hours, the bulletin said.
