Born in Kadoma, Zimbabwe, Justice Ahamed Moosa Ebrahim's roots lie in India.
Justice Ebrahim is a rare case of a person of Indian origin elevated to the status of Supreme Court judge in Zimbabwe.
But his most interesting contribution comes in the form of his efforts to promote cricket in that country. Justice Ebrahim played an important role in encouraging black Zimbabwe cricketers when whites dominated the game.
He is currently the vice-chairman of the Zimbabwe Cricket Union and a match referee of the International Cricket Council.
Justice Ebrahim retired from the Supreme Court in 2002.
