Astrologer fails to foresee arrest!

December 15, 2004 09:39 IST

Astrologer Govind Chandok, held on charges of duping people, was on Tuesday remanded to police custody till December 18 by a special court.

Chandok was arrested from a guest house in Bhuleshwar area in south Mumbai on December 8 as he had allegedly cheated people, claiming to be close to 'higher-ups' and fraudulently charging money to get things done.

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths had carried out raids at his premises in Pune last week.

Additional Director General of Police (Housing) Rahul Gopal was also present at the guest house with Chandok, when police raided the guest house.
