SC asks Maharashtra govt to carry on with engineering admissions

August 04, 2004 19:50 IST

The Supreme Court on Wednesday directed the Maharashtra government to carry on with the admission of students into various engineering colleges in the state this year as per the marks obtained by them in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

The court upheld the stay order granted by the Nagpur bench of the Bombay high court deferring the implementation of All India Council for Technical Education guidelines, allowing marks obtained by students in subjects other than these three to be counted for such admissions.
