Intelligence inputs put Mumbai on high alert

The Mumbai police is on high alert following intelligence inputs about a planned terrorist strike in the city.

Additional Commissioner of Police, Special Branch, Bipin Bihari said: "There is a high alert anyways because the Independence Day is approaching. But yes, we have got some additional inputs. Security has been tightened at important places."

Additional Commissioner of Police, Protection, Surendra Kumar said security has been tightened for VVIPs in the city and at important commercial and government buildings.
