Fire at 'Simhastha' Kumbh, no casualties

A fire broke out on Wednesday in one of the ashrams set up for the ongoing 'Simhastha' Kumbh, but no loss of life was reported, officials said.

The blaze began in the Goredau Ashram set up by Mahant Avadhbihari Das in the Ankpaat area off Mangalnath Road in Ujjain at around 1000 IST, City Commissioner C P Arora said.
A few huts built in the ashram premises caught fire, he said.
Ten fire engines were rushed to the spot and fire-fighters succeeded in dousing the flames within 30 minutes, Arora said.
