Since the festival sees thousands of people coming out on the streets, it involves tight security. The Mumbai police are not taking any chances, especially after the August 25 blasts.

Strict instructions have been given on when to wind up the dandiya nights. No-noise zones, no loudspeakers after 2200 hours IST, installation of closed circuit cameras are some measures implemented by the police and organisers.
