30 kg RDX-laden IED recovered in Doda

Security forces averted a major tragedy by detecting an Improvised Explosive Device, laden with nearly 30kg of RDX, in Doda.

The IED, found under a culvert, was recovered by a joint army and police patrol on the Sarthangal-Bhadarwa Road around 1945 IST on Wednesday, official sources said in Jammu on Thursday.

In other incidents, security forces busted two hideouts in Thanamandi area of Rajouri district and Krishna Ghati area of Poonch district and recovered a huge quantity of arms and explosives.

The recoveries included two RPG rockets with boosters, one pistol, two pistol magazines, five AK rifle magazines, 164 rounds of AK rifle ammunition, six UBGL grenades, five hand grenades, four rounds of Pika ammunition, 21 Pika cartridges, two anti-personnel mines, one binocular, two radio sets and four electric detonators.
