The Lok Pal Bill seeking to check corruption in high places was cleared by the Union Cabinet on Saturday.

Official sources said the Cabinet approved the recommendations of the Standing Committee of Parliament to which the bill had been referred.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said the office of the prime minister has also been brought within the purview of the Lok Pal.
