Looking at these carefree school kids trying to grab a glass of water at a break during a music programme, it is difficult to imagine they live in Baramulla -- near the Line of Control -- which has been the scene of frequent Pakistani shelling for more than 50 years.

But the dividends of peace have percolated to the border areas too where people currently enjoy a rare shelling-free existence.
