The National Conference on Tuesday decided to remain absent from voting and debate on the no-confidence motion moved by the Congress in the Lok Sabha.
The five-member NC, which severed its ties with the National Democratic Alliance recently, said "nothing constructive or substantive" was emerging from the debate, according to party sources.
They said after witnessing Monday's proceedings in the
House, the debate appeared to be an "election stunt" by both the opposition as well as the NDA.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the NC parliamentary party chaired by party president Omar Abdullah in New Delhi.
