The Union Cabinet on Monday cleared a bill seeking to ban cow slaughter throughout India. The Bill on Prevention of Cruelty to Cows is likely to be introduced in the current session of Parliament. While many laud the move, others believe it is an electoral gimmick that is only going to hit the poorest the hardest.
