The Vice President of India, Krishna Kant, two former prime ministers, chief ministers of half a dozen states, all the Union ministers from Bihar and some Bollywood stars will attend the marriage of the daughter of Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Laloo Prasad Yadav on May 24.
Rohini Acharya, the second daughter of Laloo and his wife, Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi, will tie the knot with US-based software professional Samresh Singh. The bride is a final year student of medicine in Jamshedpur. The groom is the son of Laloo Yadav's college friend Rai Ranvijay Singh, an income tax commissioner in Mumbai.
Sources in the chief minister's office said that former prime ministers Chandrasekhar and Deve Gowda, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and all the Union ministers from Bihar including Railway Minister Nitish Kumar, Civil Aviation Minister Syed Shahnawaz Hussain, Union Labour Minister Sharad Yadav, Union Health Minister C P Thakur will attend the wedding.
The sources added that the several Bollywood stars have been invited to attend the wedding.
Special arrangements have been made to house the VIPs guests in Patna with the guests being accorded the status of a state guest, the sources said.
