A deputy registrar of the Rajasthan high court facing allegations of seeking sexual favour for himself and a sitting judge was chargesheeted by the disciplinary authority of the court on Sunday in Jodhpur.
The official, Govind Kalwani, was under suspension after the Anti-Corruption Bureau registered a case against him last month on a complaint filed by a doctor, Sunita Malviya, who runs a health clinic in Jodhpur.
Kalwani allegedly asked Malviya to "sleep" with him and Judge Arun Madan for a night in a hotel in Jaipur to get a case in a lower court decided in her favour.
The charge sheet was issued under Section 16 of the Rajasthan Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules 1958, which provides for major penalty, including dismissal from the service.
According to the charge sheet, the official had "tarnished the image and credibility of the judiciary as an institution, brought disrepute to the Rajasthan high court…"
