SC sticks to deadline on non-CNG buses

A correspondent in New Delhi

The Supreme Court Monday stuck to its deadline of removing all non-CNG buses (basically diesel-run buses) off Delhi's roads with effect from March 31, 2001.

Delivering the judgment, Chief Justice A S Anand said that those transporters who have either deposited money to buy new buses and who will give an undertaking to do so to the transport commissioner by March 31, will be given time till September 30 to replace the buses.
