Major shake up in naval command structure

In a major shake up in Naval command, Vice Admiral Madhvendra Singh was on Thursday appointed as the new Vice Chief of Naval Staff at Naval Headquarters in Delhi.

Admiral Madhvendra Singh, at present Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Naval Command, takes over from Vice Admiral P J Jacob who retired on Wednesday, according to a naval announcement in Delhi.

Vice Admiral Vinod Pasricha (FOC-in-C), Eastern Naval Command, will replace Madhvendra Singh as FOC-in-C, WNC.

Vice Admiral J C de Silva, presently Director General, Coast Guard, will take over as FOC-in-C of the ENC, the announcement said.
