Condolence Message:Gujarat earth quake has no doubt has shaken every Indian in the world. The kind of destruction it caused to life has panicked everybody. I am so sad and frightened that I cannot express it. But I want to convey something above that. Cant we be more proactive.. Does the government departments like NGRI, etc have any info of what are the sensitive areas in India.. Now we will donate generously for Gujarat and after that let us start donating to make these gov departments to work and start doing some research.. let us not be under impression that NGRI (etc) offices starts working only after there is an earthquake in India and only few weeks after that just to make few official statements about the scale of measurement etc. I know that media in India has become more powerful and it has undertaken lot of 'good' causes lately. Unearthing match fixing to name one of them. But I from deep in my heart urge the media (rediff.com,all newspapers, india today etc) to do something, bring revolution so that few critical departments like NGRI etc related to natural calamities start working. Because personally i cant bear any more news of more life loss of our brothers and sisters of India. how many times this will continue to happen : Latur in mid 90s,Plague in Surat in 94, killer cyclone in Orissa in 99, uttarkashi tremors in 99 and now. Again, I sincerely request the media to not just remain as reporting agencies of calamities but to be more pro-active agencies by making gov departments to work, to educate people of impending dangers .. This is my sincere request to media to start some movement so that some life saving departments in the gov start working.

The thought of complaining about the button he broke to pappa. And the coti he pulled and tied to the bench. The thought of having wrinkles so that the kids would have supple skins. The thought of greying their hairs so that the kids would have beautiful trusses. The thought of bending over so that the kids would drive on them. "Choti Beta.....". "Choti Beta....." . All that one hears is his own voice. Was this the echo one wanted??? The sound of the skipping rope? The hiccups on the dining table? The sound of the school bus? Where have all the crackling voices gone? We can't be there. No words can comfort those who have lost all that they had.
