Condolence Message:hi, it is very sad moment for all the indians for the devastation caused by the R.D earthquake. It is even more sad to see that the portals like REDIFF.com do not have a relief fund or ways to recieve contributions from people abroad via credit card which is a fastest way to recieve the money. When they have the technology to process credit cartds but I do not see them making use in the time of need.I would really appreciate the "TimesofIndia" website to do such a thing. It's really a shame on Rediff.com sanjay

Email:vijay.k.gupta@gte.net
Condolence Message:It is hard to express sorrow and grief at this hour. However, very deep sympathies are with the affected. It is nature which plays its subtle part, lot of things are not in our control; it was the destiny that happened. Now, the future planning if scientifically organized and implemented can minimize the calamity of such scale. We can now only pray for the welfare of the survivors; give then strength and courage to face these difficult times.

Tue Jan 30 04:07:12 2001
Name:Sreevatsa Nippani
Email:s_nippani@hotmail.com
Condolence Message:My heartfelt condolences for the affected families. I call for an annual National Disaster Mitigation Fund by the Union Government to meet such situations. In two years, Orissa and Gujarat bore the brunt of nature's fury. Scientists must come out with a sound reason for what might have caused the quake. I am of the opinion that the Reservoir Induced Seismicity (RIS) must have been one of the reasons for this quake to happen.

Name:Brajesh Kunwar
Email:braj75@yahoo.com
Condolence Message:Its the time of anguish and grief............. Anguish because we are so-called software powerhouse of this world, second highest number of technocrats in any country and so on...................................................... but we can not ensure ours and our own people safety. This shows how selfish and self-centered we are, but this is not the recent problem, we have got in our legacy. Again I don't want to play the old record of how we have been oppressed through the centuries, just because of our own lack of sincerity , insecurity and courage for the country. Its up to us how we want to leave as a great individual with uncertain future or the citizen ofa great country. As everybody must be well aware about the national calamity. Please do whatever you can do. This is just the beginning of the struggle for the great future and restoring self respect. Let's pray we will be successful in our endeavor.
