Delhi teenager held for
creating porn website

Basharat Peer in New Delhi

The Delhi Police Crime Branch has arrested a 16-year-old boy, the son of a retired Indian Air Force officer, on charges of creating a pornographic website "to take revenge against schoolmates who made fun of him".

Applying the e-balm to his bruised ego got the boy charged for the first such cyber crime in the country.

The standard XII student of the the IAF-run Bal Bharati School in south Delhi has been sentenced by a juvelile court to 14 days' judicial custody at the juvenile remand home in Timarpur in North Delhi. His father is a retired squadron leader of the Indian Air Force, who had taken premature retirement.

The boy had allegedly created the pornographic website 'amazing-gents .8m.net', which ran a warning "Girls should enter at their own risk". He had allegedly created the site from his residence and put the names of schoolmates and teachers in it, with remarks laced with vulgarity attached to them.

The website cannot be opened now and typing the site name leads one to 'freexpress.org, whose home pages asks you questions like "Is sex an over-hyped physical activity/need?"

The case was filed after the police received a complaint from the father of a girl student, whose name appeared on the site. The arrest was made by officials of the crime branch's cyber cell after they obtained evidence from a US-based web-hosting firm, a police official said.

The boy's parents will move a bail application in court on Friday.

The boy is said to be an introvert, who was often teased by fellow students. He found the net as a means to do what he could not do physically -- hit back in anger at those who made fun of him.

The Bal Bharti school principal was not available for comment.
